{"id":60646,"date":"2021-06-09T13:07:01","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T13:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=60646"},"modified":"2021-06-09T13:07:02","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T13:07:02","slug":"vaccination-against-coronavirus-starts-in-syrias-derik","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/60646\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaccination against coronavirus starts in Syria\u2019s Derik"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DERIK, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>Vaccination process against coronavirus began in a hospital in the city of Derik, in the far northeast Syria on Wednesday for the elderly and those who suffer from chronic diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vaccines, which include 500 doses, will be delivered to people over 55 years old and those over 18 with chronic diseases, a medical source from the hospital told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the vaccination process, it will last for two days starting from 8 AM to 2 PM, the source added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) Health Board, total toll of coronavirus cases in Syria\u2019s northeast has come up to 18,061 including 373 deaths and 1,837 recoveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vaccines are of the British AstraZeneca type, provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), according to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In late May, WHO in coordination with AANES Health Board started the vaccination of medical crews in People\u2019s Hospital in Hasakah.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In late April, UN announced the arrival of a shipment of about 200,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Syria according to COVAX program by the WHO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">17,500 doses of coronavirus vaccines arrived in Syria\u2019s northeast co-chair of AANES Health Board, Jiwan Mustafa, said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, 6,000 more doses will arrive within the coming days bringing the total number to 23,000 doses, in a statement to North Press, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Solnar Muhammad<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vaccination process against coronavirus began in a hospital in the city of #Derik, in the far northeast #Syria on Wednesday for the elderly and those who suffer from chronic diseases. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":60647,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5,39,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-60646","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-home","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
