{"id":58151,"date":"2021-04-24T05:55:36","date_gmt":"2021-04-24T05:55:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=58151"},"modified":"2021-04-24T05:55:36","modified_gmt":"2021-04-24T05:55:36","slug":"water-flow-should-be-allowed-from-syrias-alouk-station-us-state-department","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/58151\/","title":{"rendered":"Water flow should be allowed from Syria&#8217;s Alouk station: US State Department"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Friday, the United States Department of State said that they are communicating with Turkey and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to solve the issue of Alouk Station, in the countryside of Ras al-Ain, northeast Syria, and that it is necessary to allow water flow in order to secure the humanitarian needs in an appropriate way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We know about the current situation regarding the Alouk water station in northeast Syria,&#8221; the US State Department spokesman said in a statement to Rudaw Media Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that they are contacting Turkey and officials in AANES to solve the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Days ago, drinking water was cut to residents of Hasakah and its villages after Turkish-backed armed groups that run the station stopped the water flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About one million people in Hasakah, Tel Tamr, and al-Shaddadi are affected by the water cutoff in light of the inability of Hemmah station, northwest of Hasakah, to secure people&#8217;s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It is necessary to allow water flow and increase the water levels in order to secure humanitarian needs in an appropriate way in order not to risk people&#8217;s lives,&#8221; the US State Department spokesman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For two and a half years, Turkey and the Turkish-backed armed groups have stopped water flow from the station several times, the latest of which was in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, the Water Directorate in Hasakah declared a state of emergency due to the drinking water cutoff from Alouk Station in the Sere Kaniye countryside to Hasakah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Water Directorate and the council of the Hasakah region called on international and humanitarian organizations to quickly intervene to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe due to the lack of water in light of the outbreak of coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 On Friday, the United States Department of State said that they are communicating with Turkey and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to solve the issue of Alouk Station, in the countryside of Ras al-Ain, northeast Syria, and that it is necessary to allow water flow in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":58152,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-58151","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
