{"id":57950,"date":"2021-04-20T19:45:02","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T19:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=57950"},"modified":"2021-04-20T19:45:03","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T19:45:03","slug":"turkey-summons-swedish-envoy-over-video-meeting-with-syrias-aanes-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/57950\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkey summons Swedish envoy over video meeting with Syria&#8217;s AANES officials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> On Tuesday, Turkey summoned the Swedish envoy to condemn the meeting held between military and administrative officials of the Autonomous Administration and the Swedish Minister for Defense, Peter<em>&nbsp;<\/em>Hultqvist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On April 19, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), General Mazloum Abdi, and the deputy co-presidency of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Badran Jia Kurd, held a video conference with the Swedish Minister for Defense, <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/57877\/\">Peter&nbsp;Hultqvist<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the meeting, Turkey&#8217;s Ministry for Foreign Affairs summoned the Swedish envoy, Staffan Herrstrom, to strongly condemn it and previous meeting held with Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/56744\/\">Ann Linde<\/a>, <em>Anadolu<\/em> <em>Agency<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Turkish Ministry for Foreign Affairs described the Swedish policy as a violation to the international laws, and it seriously damages Turkish-Swedish relations, the agency added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkey also urged Sweden not to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration, according to <em>Anadolu Agency<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, Swedish Minister for Defense showed his country&#8217;s readiness to support the SDF in fighting ISIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/56744\/\">March 29<\/a>, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde had an online meeting with the President of the Executive Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Ilham Ahmad. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the meeting, Linde emphasized that the SDC should be included in the talks on Syria\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Report by Juan Qaraman<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#Turkey urged #Sweden not to support the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration. #TwitterKurds #AANES <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":57951,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-57950","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-middle-east"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
