{"id":57657,"date":"2021-04-15T18:53:39","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T18:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=57657"},"modified":"2021-04-15T18:53:40","modified_gmt":"2021-04-15T18:53:40","slug":"residents-of-syrias-hama-suffer-from-water-cut-amid-no-government-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/57657\/","title":{"rendered":"Residents of Syria&#8217;s Hama suffer from water cut amid no government solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HAMA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Thursday, residents of the neighborhood of Abi al-Fida&#8217; in Hama governorate, central Syria, complained about drinking water cut off for more than a week, amid the absence of the government solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have been suffering from water cut for a week, as we are not able to run the reserve wells that feed the neighborhood because of the continuous power outages,&#8221; Haytham al-Saleh, a pseudonym for a resident of the neighborhood, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abi al-Fida&#8217; neighborhood is located on the southern side of the city, where it has been suffering from lack of drinking water for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The lack of diesel is the main reason for not operating the generators, which has contributed to aggravate the problem and deprive us of water,&#8221; al-Saleh added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He pointed out that they have to get water from tankers at 80,000 Syrian pounds, which constitutes a great burden on them in light of the difficult conditions they have been passing through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to North Press, Khaled al-Sorani, a pseudonym for a member of the neighborhood committee, said that the water cuts are related to the power cut off, as the increase in power rationing is the main reason for the lack of water in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We have repeatedly demanded to supply the generators with diesel to run the wells to supply the area with water, but we just get promises without any signs of solving the problem,&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stated that they were promised a few weeks ago to install solar energy for the wells so that to dispense with the generators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most government-held areas have been suffering from water cuts for long periods of time, amid the government&#8217;s inability to provide diesel for the generators to supply the neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Ula Muhammad<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HAMA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 On Thursday, residents of the neighborhood of Abi al-Fida&#8217; in Hama governorate, central Syria, complained about drinking water cut off for more than a week, amid the absence of the government solutions. &#8220;We have been suffering from water cut for a week, as we are not able to run the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":57658,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-57657","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
