{"id":57476,"date":"2021-04-12T16:10:51","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T16:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=57476"},"modified":"2021-04-12T16:10:52","modified_gmt":"2021-04-12T16:10:52","slug":"coronavirus-infections-to-determine-continuation-of-lockdown-in-syrias-euphrates-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/57476\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus infections to determine continuation of lockdown in Syria&#8217;s Euphrates Region"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>KOBANI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Monday, Health Board co-chair in the Euphrates Region Aziza Ibrahim said that the complete lockdown will be extended if the numbers of coronavirus infections increase, and it will be partial if the numbers decrease; it is even possible to lift the lockdown if no new cases are recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On April 6, the Crisis Management Team in the Euphrates Region announced the implementation of a complete lockdown for ten days in the region starting on April 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ibrahim pointed out in an interview with North Press that they are following the outbreak of the virus in the area, and &#8220;according to the statistics, we will issue an appropriate decision.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, the Euphrates Region recorded 52 new infections and three deaths from coronavirus, according to the health committee in the Euphrates Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two medical centers for detecting the infection and treating the infected people, one in the city of Kobani, &#8220;Mashtah al-Nour Medical Center,&#8221; and the other in the village of Yadi Qawi, south of Kobani, called the &#8220;Covid-19 Center&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rapid Response Team in Mashtah al-Nour Center take swabs from suspected cases who have symptoms, and they send the PCR tests to Qamishli city, northeast Syria, according to the Health Board in the Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those infected people who suffer from severe symptoms are sent to Covid-19 Center to receive the necessary health care, while those who have moderate symptoms are given drugs and instructions regarding commitment to a home quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday, Health Board co-chair in the Euphrates Region Ahmed Mahmud said that the residents&#8217; commitment to the complete lockdown is acceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;But it necessary that people show better commitment to the lockdown during the coming days in order to reduce the transmission of infection from the infected people to other healthy ones.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rapid Response Team against coronavirus in the Euphrates Region consists of 24 members who take coronavirus swabs in clinics, hospitals, and medical centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mays Osman, a member of the team, said that they conduct the tests through taking swabs from people who have mild or severe symptoms, and they take their mobile numbers to contact them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team contacts the infected people, monitors their health conditions and advises them to adhere to a home quarantine if they have mild or moderate symptoms, even if the result is positive, according to Osman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the infected people&#8217;s health conditions worsen and they have severe symptoms risking their health, members of the team transfer them to Covid-19 Center where they receive the health care and drugs under the supervision of doctors and nurses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Fattah Issa<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Health Board co-chair in #Syria\u2019s #Kobani says that the #coronavirus lockdown\u2019s continuation or extension depends on the number of cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":57478,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-57476","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
