KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – <\/strong>The co-chair of the Euphrates Health Board, Ahmed Mahmoud, said that the opening of the cardiac catheterization department at Kobani Hospital, north Syria, is the first of its kind in the Euphrates region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center will save patients the difficulty of traveling to other regions to have catheterization operations, which will save the lives of patients in emergency cases, he told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, the Health Board of the Euphrates Region opened a cardiac catheterization department in Kobani to provide specialized health care in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the opening, two diagnostic catheterization operations were successfully performed in the hospital, and the department has become ready to receive patients, according to the hospital management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patients who needed cardiac catheterization operations in Kobani had to go to the cities of Raqqa and Qamishli for heart operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahmoud indicated that the operations that will be conducted in the department will be at half the cost of performing the operation in private hospitals, and the goal will not be profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two specialist doctors and a catheterization technician supervise the work in the department, while nine anesthesiologists and nurses in the cardiac care department will be responsible for the intensive care after the operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
