{"id":56583,"date":"2021-03-26T10:59:05","date_gmt":"2021-03-26T10:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=56583"},"modified":"2021-03-26T12:44:08","modified_gmt":"2021-03-26T12:44:08","slug":"uneasy-calm-prevails-northeast-syrias-tel-tamr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/56583\/","title":{"rendered":"Uneasy calm prevails northeast Syria&#8217;s Tel Tamr"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Today, uneasy calm prevails in the countryside of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria, after violent clashes and intense bombardment by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups during the last night. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last night, the Turkish-backed armed groups attacked sites of Tel Tamr military Council using all kinds of weapons accompanied by missiles and artillery shells, and fierce clashes erupted as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/56561\/\">March 25<\/a>, the Turkish army and the affiliated armed groups targeted the village of al-Derdara, 5 km north of Tel Tamr, and the village of Qubur al-Qarajneh in Zarkan area with artillery shells. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shelling was launched from the Turkish base located in the village of Aniq al-Hawa, a military source had earlier said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Turkish forces and the affiliated armed groups targeted the village of al-Kozaliya, west of the town of Tel Tamr with heavy weapons and artillery shells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the attacks, the Tel Tamr Military Council targeted a military vehicle of the armed groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed groups have consistently bombarded the areas around Tel Tamr since the Turkish invasion and occupation of Syria\u2019s Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in October 2019, which placed Tel Tamr just a few kilometers from the front lines between the former groups and the Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian government forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bombardment and attacks on the Tel Tamr countryside continue, even after agreements Turkey signed with Russian and American forces stipulating a ceasefire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Dilbreen Moosa<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Today, uneasy calm prevails in the countryside of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria, after violent clashes and intense bombardment by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups during the last night. &nbsp; Last night, the Turkish-backed armed groups attacked sites of Tel Tamr military Council using all kinds of weapons accompanied by missiles and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":56562,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-56583","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
