RAQQA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>On Tuesday, Lorance al-Borsan, a member of the follow-up committee in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said during the last meeting the committee declared that prison administrations would be responsible for detainees after an investigation period set by the Public Prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The follow-up committee, which was formed during the National Conference for the People of Jazira and Euphrates by the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), held its last meeting on Thursday to discuss the security and administrative conditions in North and East Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Offices to investigate detainees’ conditions and gather information about them from the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and the Justice Council in North and East Syria will be established,” he told North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late November, SDC held the National Conference for the People of Jazira and Euphrates, during which they founded a committee to follow up on the implementation of the conference’s decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The follow-up committee held its third meeting during which they discussed security and administrative conditions in northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation duration for civil cases is 48 hours, and could be extended to 15 days, according to a member of the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, investigation time regarding terrorism cases lasts for a week and may be extended for up to a month, after “obtaining permission from the Public Prosecution.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
