{"id":55100,"date":"2021-02-25T11:45:27","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T11:45:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=55100"},"modified":"2021-02-25T11:45:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T11:45:27","slug":"ypj-thanks-clinton-for-the-kurdish-drama-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/55100\/","title":{"rendered":"YPJ thanks Clinton for the Kurdish drama series"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The Women&#8217;s Protection Units (YPJ), an all-female force which is part of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), sent a thank-you note to the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea for their proposal to produce a drama series &#8220;The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage, and Justice.&#8221; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nesrin Abdullah, YPJ Commander-in-Chief started the message with expressing the gratitude and appreciation of the YPJ fighters to the HiddenLight Productions for its idea to produce the TV series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Many tried to write or document stories like that of our struggle in Syria, but a few succeeded in excluding a personal perspective and did not reflect the reality for promotional or commercial purposes,&#8221; Abdullah said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdullah expressed hope that the &#8220;production will reflect the realities on the ground and shed light on our endeavors to bring about a better place for women in the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We would also be more happy to provide any possible assistance needed to make such production happen,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdullah pointed out that this great project is a &#8220;testament for history to be made and told by women.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We, the free women of Syria, are making history here; we are fighting on the ground to protect our existence and our rights; and you, in the free world, are documenting this historical event and conveying the reality of the fight for freedom, justice, humanity, and women right to the world,&#8221; Abdullah concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 16, Gayle Tzemach Lemmon issued her book&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/54913\/\">The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage and Justice&nbsp;<\/a>about the role of the YPJ fighters against ISIS in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book was published by Penguin Random House, a publishing company in New York which is known for publishing valuable books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The book consists of ten parts of total 254 sheets including details about what the YPJ fighters have experienced alongside with photos of main personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The family of the former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton\u2019s HiddenLight Production Company declared that it granted the right to make a drama series based on the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clinton said that she chose the book, \u201cbecause it imitates the reality of women, who fought next to men in battlefields defending their lands against extremist groups,\u201d according to BBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey have fought for spreading their own political vision and establishing gender equality in their corner of the Middle East and beyond,\u201d she added. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Report by Jiwan Shikaki<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 The Women&#8217;s Protection Units (YPJ), an all-female force which is part of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), sent a thank-you note to the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea for their proposal to produce a drama series &#8220;The Daughters of Kobani: A Story of Rebellion, Courage, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":55101,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5,39,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-55100","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-home","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
