HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The Child Protection Office in Armed Conflicts in Hasakah handed over three minor children, who had joined the military forces, to their families, on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement to North Press, Khaled Jabr, co-chair of the Child Protection Office said that the office had received the minor children from the military forces, and they were handed over to their families on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that they have handed over 15 minors to their families in Hasakah so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are serious about dealing with the issue of minors, and that they have handed over minor children to the Child Protection Office without registering a complaint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murhaf al-Abdullah, the head of the Child Protection Office<\/a> in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), said on Wednesday that they have come a long way in ending the recruitment of minor children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe recently opened the issue of child labor in North and East Syria, and we have plans and programs to provide the necessary support for these cases,\u201d al-Abdullah stated that to North Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AANES Executive Council established\u00a0the\u00a0Child Protection Office\u00a0late in August. This step came after an agreement signed by the SDF Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi with the United Nations to prevent the recruitment of children and their use as combatants in armed conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
