They all died instantly, according to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing security chaos since the defeat of the Islamic State (ISIS) in the region in 2019, with explosions, ambushes, and assassination attempts targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), members of the local administration, and even tribal figures and notables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF, in cooperation with the Global Coalition, has been able to arrest dozens of ISIS leaders and cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/37015\/\">Two dignitaries of the Akidat tribe in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor<\/a>, namely Sheikh Mutashar al-Hamoud al-Jadaan al-Hafl and Sheikh Ibrahim al-Khalil al-Aboud al-Jadaan al-Hafl, were subjected to an armed attack by unknown persons on the first day of Eid al-Adha while they were returning from a tribal reconciliation, killing Sheikh Mutashar and his driver and injuring Sheikh Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both local residents and the administration blame ISIS, the Syrian government, and Iran for sowing discord and chaos in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Mohammed Ali<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 A dignitary of the Akidat tribe was murdered along with his son and one other person, when his house was stormed by unknown individuals on Sunday-Monday night in the town of Diban in Syria\u2019s Deir ez-Zor region.
