{"id":50281,"date":"2020-11-23T15:34:16","date_gmt":"2020-11-23T15:34:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=50281"},"modified":"2020-11-23T15:34:17","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T15:34:17","slug":"assassinations-increase-amid-deteriorating-security-situation-in-syrias-daraa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/50281\/","title":{"rendered":"Assassinations increase amid deteriorating security situation in Syria&#8217;s Daraa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DARAA, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The city of Daraa, southern Syria, has been witnessing several assassinations against civil activists, former heads of opposition groups, and Syrian government soldiers by unidentified individuals. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A defected officer, who made a settlement in 2018 in Daraa, said on Saturday, that a new official was named under Iranian guidance, to address the security issue in southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defected officer feared that the assassination and detention operations against anti-government people may increase after naming the new official in Daraa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, Daraa witnessed an increase in killing, assassination, and kidnapping after the Syrian government <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/49934\/\">Fourth Division brought new military reinforcements<\/a> from Damascus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 18, residents of Horan Farms in Daraa governorate found the <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/50091\/\">body of two people<\/a>, who were subjected to abuse and torture then killed by unknown persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, unknown persons assassinated Imad Waisi, a volunteer in the government Air Force Intelligence, when he was out of his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 15, <a href=\"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/49852\/\">four members of the government military and security forces<\/a> were killed by unknown persons in three separate incidents in the countryside of Daraa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Few days ago, unidentified armed men assassinated the opposed civil activist, who made conciliations with the government, Fathi Abu Dabbous while he was heading to home in Daraa. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The local society expresses its fears towards the continuation of the assassinations, which has been repeated almost daily in Daraa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The countryside of Daraa has been witnessing escalating tension since the beginning of September, when government forces raided the town of Karak and besieged Daraa al-Balad, carrying out arrests there. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Sami Ali<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The local society expresses its fears towards the continuation of the assassinations, which has been repeated almost daily in #Daraa. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":50282,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-50281","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-military-developments","category-syria"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
