Manbij – North-Press Agency <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Saddam al-Hassan <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The internally displaced people from Idlib governorate, who settled in Jdeidat al-Hamr camp south of Manbij, have called on relief organizations last week to provide support and assistance including food and cooking tools, in addition to the camp's need for a school and medical center.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On Sunday, 25 families of Idlib IDPs were transferred from eastern Manbij camp to Jdeidat al-Hamr camp as the first batch, and other batches coming from Idlib countryside are expected to arrive within the coming days, according to what Asma Remo, the official at Social Affairs and Labor Committee stated to North-Press.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A displaced person from the eastern countryside of Maarat al-Numan, who preferred not to be named, said that the service situation in the camp is "acceptable", in terms of the availability of water, electricity, sanitation, and bathrooms, while he described the living conditions of the IDPs inside the camp as "deteriorating to a great degree because most families fled with their clothes without carrying anything with them."<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He called on relief organizations to provide assistance to the displaced, saying: "We cannot buy a bundle of bread or one kilo of vegetables, we do not have the price of food or drink and we need help from humanitarian relief organizations."<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The area of Jdeidat al-Hamr camp is approximately 100,000 m², divided into four sections. The first section of the camp was completed regarding sanitation, water, and electricity a few days ago, and building 300 tents, according to the Social Affairs and Labor Committee of the Autonomous Administration in Manbij.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The preparation of the first section of the camp was scheduled to be completed last month, but construction work continued until this March due to bad weather conditions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n While Asma Remo said that on February 12, the Kurdish Red Crescent provided the camp with 300 tents with sponges, blankets, and insulators, saying: “No organization has so far provided any assistance to the displaced, except for the American Free Burma Rangers Organization that provided some food baskets and baby clothes.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Muhammad Khalil (pseudonym), an IDP from Maarat al-Numan, indicated that the camp lacks a school and a health clinic, amid "a large number of leishmaniasis infections among children who need treatment."<\/p>\n Khalil pointed out that the assistance provided to them was not enough, "We need more support, such as food, cooking tools, and others."<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the possibility of establishing a clinic and opening a school inside Jdeidat al-Hamr camp, the official at Social Affairs and Labor Committee said that they are working on establishing a health clinic in the camp, adding: “We are communicating with Education Committee to build a school in the camp.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Asma Remo called on the international humanitarian relief organizations to visit Jdeidat al-Hamr camp and assess the conditions of the displaced people in order to provide the necessary assistance.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The number of displaced families from Idlib into areas of northeastern Syria, since the start of the recent military campaign of the Syrian government forces on Idlib, has reached more than 220 families, according to a previous statement by the head of Office of Displaced and Refugees Affairs in northeastern Syria.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jdeidat al-Hamr camp accommodates 1,000 families, whereby the remaining IDPs in the informal settlements in al-Arimah and al-Kawkli countryside, and Um Mayal in the western countryside of Manbij will be transferred to Jdeidat al-Hamr in the next few days.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Manbij – North-Press Agency Saddam al-Hassan The internally displaced people from Idlib governorate, who settled in Jdeidat al-Hamr camp south of Manbij, have called on relief organizations last week to provide support and assistance including food and cooking tools, in addition to the camp's need for a school and medical center.
