Qamishli – North-Press Agency <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Zana al-Ali<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The staff of the Education Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria started organizing lessons of the curriculum by video recording for the sake of the students who have been dropped out of schools due to the lockdown to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Risks of coronavirus outbreak kept 789,225 students away from their schools in all regions of northeastern Syria, as 4,137 schools were closed according to the Education Board, in implementation of the curfew imposed by the Autonomous Administration.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sherine Himo, an official at Schools’ Committee in Qamishli, told North-Press that since last week, they started discussing the new plan to compensate the students for their lessons in a project called “Our Home Our School,” in order not to keep the students without education, in addition to providing conditions for the continuation of measures to prevent the outbreak of the epidemic.<\/p>\n Ms. Himo explained that the duration of each lesson will range between 25 to 30 minutes, indicating that the lessons will be shown on TV channels in the region.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On March 14th, the Autonomous Administration decided to suspend all schools, institutes, and universities (students and teachers only) until further notice, in order to face the threat of the outbreak of coronavirus.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Nesrin Doku, co-chair of the Education Board in northeastern Syria, told North-Press that schools will be closed until April 6, which is the date set by the Autonomous Administration for the end of the curfew, with reference to the possibility of extension “if required.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The official of the Schools’ Committee in Qamishli pointed out that they are preparing the visual curriculum in the Kurdish language in the city of Qamishli and the Arabic language in the city of Hasakah.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She added that they will start, as a first stage, with preparing the curriculum for the preparatory and secondary schools, while they will begin with the elementary school after completing the two stages.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is not the first time schools are closed within this school year, as they were closed for about a month during the Turkish military invasion in the areas of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tal-Abyad in northeastern Syria during October last year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Qamishli – North-Press Agency Zana al-Ali The staff of the Education Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria started organizing lessons of the curriculum by video recording for the sake of the students who have been dropped out of schools due to the lockdown to prevent the outbreak of […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":44626,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pgc_sgb_lightbox_settings":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[10],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-44625","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-reports"],"yoast_head":"\n
