The US president’s administration, Donald Trump, announced, on Monday, a
\n10 million dollar reward for information that would disrupt the financial
\nmechanisms of the Lebanese Hezbollah.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The US Department of State said, financial rewards will be paid to those
\nwho give information aimed at “identifying and disrupting” the
\nsources of income of Hezbollah, donors, financial facilitators and the
\ninvestments owned by the party, or under its control. Furthermore, the rewards
\nalso aim at identifying and disrupting “criminal schemes that include
\nHezbollah members and supporters, who provide financial benefit to the
\norganization.”<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Rewards will be provided by the “rewards for justice” program,
\nwhich usually provides money for information leading to the identification of
\nwanted terrorists, and this is the first time that the program is used to
\ntarget a financial network.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

In a related context, the US State Department said in a statement on
\nMonday that Washington is trying to cut off the flow of Iranian money to
\nLebanon’s Hezbollah.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

“Hezbollah’s revenues amount to about $1 billion a year, which is
\nsecured through direct financial support from Iran, international exchanges and
\ninvestments, a network of donors and money laundering activities,” the
\nDepartment of State in a  statement.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The US State Department has set an example of targeted individuals and parties,
\nwith three members and financiers of Hezbollah, namely, Adham Tabjah, Ali Yousuf
\nSharara and Muhamad Ibrahim Bzeeh.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Finance in June 2015, has put Adham Tabjah on its list
\nof terrorists and terrorism financiers.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

According to the State Department, Tabjah is a member of Hezbollah and
\nhas direct links with its senior organizational members , “including the
\noperational component of the terrorist group, Islamic Jihad.”<\/o:p><\/p>\n

While ” Ali Yousuf Sharara ” was put on the Treasury’s list of
\nterrorists in (January 2016) as a major financier of Hezbollah.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Treasury Department also added” Muhamad Ibrahim Bzeeh ”
\nto its terrorists\u2019 list in May 2018, and the US State Department said that he had provided Hezbollah with millions
\nof dollars, through its business activities.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
