It seems that the first repercussions of this defeat emerged within the party itself, as the most watchful thing among the Turks, is the formation of new parties from the womb of the AK Party.

What is remarkable is that most of those who are talking about their intention of forming new parties, are prominent members of Justice and Development Party, when Erdogan and his fellows decided to from the party, who were members of Virtue Party in 2001, as they told the leader of the party and the founder of the political Islam in Turkey Necmettin Erbakan of their intention to establish a new party.

The Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), which introduced itself as a moderate and restorative party, today, the same scenario repeats itself with the visit of the former leader Ali Babacan to Erdogan some time ago and informing him of his intention to establish a new party before submitting his resignation from AK Party. In addition to Babacan, the former Turkish President Abdullah Gul is acting as the guide in every movement and step and communicates with other parties in the country.

In parallel to the efforts of Babacan and Gul, the name of former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the ideologue of the ideology of the Justice and Development Party (AK Parti), emerges to establish a new party as well, remarkably, Mr. Davutoglu is the most person who raises his voice in the face of Erdogan and criticizes him harshly after being the most person who applied his policies and was silent for his deeds.

This comes amid the talks about vertical and horizontal splits within the party, there are those who say that Erdogan emptied the party from its people and turned it into a one-man party, especially since it is the first time that the same person became president as well as the presidency of the ruling party, there are also those who say that AKP had become a group of divided blocks, controlled by a layer of businessmen close to Erdogan and his family.

With the efforts of establishing new Turkish parties, and the emergence of Akram Emamoglu after his victory as the mayor of Istanbul, Turkey seems to be facing political changes from within, especially since the talks about 100 members from the Justice and Development Party would be joining Babacan’s party, this will lead to the formation of a new parliamentary bloc within the parliament, which will lead to the loss of the majority of AKP in the parliament on one hand, and on the other hand, the possibility of calling for a referendum to retreat the presidential system and return to the parliamentary one with a new formula, also, the call for early presidential and parliamentary elections, meaning the possibility of shortening Erdogan’s presidential period.

In addition to the above, The Peoples’ Democratic Party, remains an influential party in Turkish and Kurdish circles, in case of the release of the former party leader Selahattin Demirtas from jail next Tuesday, where his trial is scheduled, the Turkish opposition will receive additional support, where the Turkish political scene will be in front of a rising trio, consisted of Imamoglu, Babacan and Demirtas, and perhaps such a trio will push the Turkish opposition that opposes Erdogan to direct political confrontation with him.

Turning the table

In light of the collapse of Erdogan’s policy and the dangers of the worsening economic crisis on the impact of the US-Turkish dispute over the Russian S-400 missile system deal, attention is focused on Erdogan and how will he act in the upcoming stage, and how will he face these challenges, especially the schisms in his party?

There are those who believe that Erdogan has only to make real reforms in order to contain the leaders who are being opposed to him, but in fact who knows Erdogan’s character must exclude such an option, as he’s used to saying that those who leave their ship, their fate is to be dumped by history and the days will punish them.

So, it’s necessary to think about other scenarios that Erdogan may resort to, perhaps this explains the leaking of the close circles to him about the close launch of a peace process with the Kurds and specifically with the Kurdish jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan, who was detained two decades ago, and perhaps such an option comes within Erdogan thoughts by turning the table over all of his opponents.

It’s not necessarily about having a real intention to achieve a political solution for the Kurdish question, especially that his fighter jets keep bombing Kurdish positions inside and outside of the country.
