DERIK, Syria (North Press) – The co-chair of Health Board in northeastern Syria’s Derik, Muhammad Adnan, said that the coronavirus patient contracted the virus in Qamishli through contact with “an infected or someone in contact with them. However, her condition is stable, and they are working on limiting contact with her.”<\/p>\n

Adnan told North Press that the infected patient is in the countryside of Derik city and “her condition is stable; she is under health supervision and is subjected to a quarantine in her room.” He added that a medical crew of the Health Board travelled to her home on Monday take new samples from her family in anticipation of their infection with the virus.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the number of people who came in contact with her has not been determined yet, and they have been working to identify cases in the village and other places.<\/p>\n

The Co-chair of Health Board in Derik said that the infected woman is an employee in an organizational affairs office in Qamishli. They are unsure if she got the virus from coming in contact with an infected person or someone who came in contact with an infected patient. <\/p>\n

The Autonomous Administration announced on Sunday that the number of infected people with coronavirus was eight, after recording two new cases in Derik and Hasakah.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Autonomous Administration Health Board recorded four infections with coronavirus on Thursday, three of which were in Qamishli and one of which was in Hasakah. The Kurdish Red Crescent revealed on Friday that the number of those who came in contact with infected people was 88.<\/p>\n
