Kobani – North-Press Agency<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fattah Issa – Fayad Muhammad<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n People of Kobani have celebrated Newroz Day this year in their villages and by small gatherings, unlike previous years, due to measures taken by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to prevent the new coronavirus.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Internal security forces (Asayish) in Kobani took strict measures regarding celebrating Newroz and prevented gatherings, where security forces, traffic police, and rescue forces were distributed on all entrances to the forest of Kobani and on the roads leading to Mishtanur Hill, where people used to celebrate in past years, while most of them were forced to go to their villages to celebrate in the form of small gatherings that include family members.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Prevention of gatherings<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Administrator at Internal Security Forces in Kobani, Kawa Hamou told North-Press that security forces are committed to implementing the decisions of the Autonomous Administration to prevent gatherings, and they prevented the residents from entering the forest of Kobani and Mishtanur Hill, to maintain the health of the people and to prevent the spread and transmission of coronavirus in the area.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hamou added that most people welcomed the instructions of Internal Security Forces to prevent gatherings, because banning aims to prevent the spread of the virus, pointing out that large numbers of people arrived in the forest but they could not enter due to the presence of Internal Security Forces that cordoned off all the roads leading to the forest.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He pointed out that the majority of the families that were prevented from entering the forest and Mishtanur Hill headed towards the villages to celebrate Newroz in the form of small gatherings that only included family members.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Locals’ opinion about prevention of gatherings<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sheikh Khedou explained that they as residents used to celebrate Newroz in the forest of Kobani and Mishtanur Hill, but because of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in the world this year, gatherings were banned by the Autonomous Administration, pointing out that the decision is good and for the benefit of the people, especially that citizens do not know the dangers of the spread of such epidemic in the region.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He added that the families should voluntarily abandon some customs used during festivals, events, and condolences, especially kissing and shaking hands, because the infection can spread from one person to another and to prevent the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Zahraa Ahmed said that they did not celebrate this year, the celebrations were limited to dressing in folk clothes and going out by small gatherings with the family to nature in the villages, due to decision of prevention of gatherings, pointing out that the health of people is more important than the collective celebrations of the feast.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She added that in compliance with these decisions, they decided to go out as a family from their home and celebrate with the family members, noting that they agree with decisions related to prevention of gatherings as well as the voluntary commitment to prevent shaking and kissing in these occasions, as these obligations help to protect them from the infection of coronavirus and the spread of the epidemic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On March 19, the Executive Council of the Euphrates region issued a decision to prevent the gatherings in the Euphrates region in the forest of Kobani and Mishtanur Hill to celebrate Newroz to prevent coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kobani – North-Press Agency Fattah Issa – Fayad Muhammad People of Kobani have celebrated Newroz Day this year in their villages and by small gatherings, unlike previous years, due to measures taken by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to prevent the new coronavirus.
