{"id":37939,"date":"2019-09-19T12:58:34","date_gmt":"2019-09-19T12:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=37939"},"modified":"2019-09-19T12:58:34","modified_gmt":"2019-09-19T12:58:34","slug":"Sere-Kaniye people reject the resettlement of IDPs from outside of their region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/37939\/","title":{"rendered":"Sere-Kaniye people reject the resettlement of IDPs from outside of their region"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"justify\"><b>Sere-Kaniye \u2013 North-Press Agency<\/b><br \/><b>Abdulhalim Suleiman<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Residents of the city of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and its countryside, north of Hasakah, have refused the resettlement of Syrian refugees who are not original residents of the northeastern region of Syria, pointing out that they have no problem with the return of the original people of the region to their homes.<br \/>In interviews made by North-Press with a number of people in Sere-Kaniye, Najm Abdul Aziz told North-Press that &#8220;Turkey aims to empty the region of its indigenous people, through the resettlement of Syrian refugees in it,&#8221; rejecting the arrival of non-resident people of northeastern Syria to their city, noting that People&#8217;s Protection Units (YPG) &#8220;don&#8217;t pose any threats to Turkey\u201d, he said.<br \/>He pointed out that the eastern region of the Euphrates is the safest region in Syria, and that a large number of displaced Syrians reside there now, adding that he refuses the entry of any Turkish soldier or military vehicle into the region.<br \/>Mahmoud Ahmad, from the village of Ein Hassan, 2km west of Sere-Kaniye, also rejected the arrival of IDPs who are not from the region, saying: &#8220;Those who are originally from the region are welcome, but we do not accept resettling IDPs from other areas in our region\u201d, warning of the entry of the Turkish military into the region which &#8220;will cause massacres, and the entire population will be displaced, as there will be no security and stability at that time\u201d, according to him.<br \/>Regarding the conduct of the joint US-Turkish patrols on the border areas, Ali Salmo, a resident of the village of Alok, which is 5km east of Sere-Kaniye, the village was checked by a joint patrol of the U.S. forces and Ras al-Ain Military Council, to verify the implementation of the security mechanism terms.<br \/>He pointed out that the joint US-Turkish security patrols don&#8217;t affect the situation of the people, asking Turkey not to interfere in people&#8217;s affairs, stressing on the local refugees\u2019 right of return, provided they don&#8217;t return as &#8220;terrorists&#8221;, in reference to Turkey affiliated armed groups.<br \/>&#8220;The Turkish allegations propaganda of accusing YPG of terrorism were created by media campaigns, as such information are incorrect. People have been living safely with YPG for seven years\u201d, Selmo said.<br \/>In turn, Mustafa Ibrahim said that Turkey has no right to enter northeastern Syria because it&#8217;s considered as an &#8220;occupation&#8221;, according to the international law, noting that YPG never posed any threats to Turkey, and that they have treated people without distinction to race, class or religion.<br \/>Last month, Turkey and the United States have agreed to establish a security mechanism in northern Syria on the borders with Turkey, where joint patrols were deployed in the region.
