{"id":37741,"date":"2019-08-20T13:13:12","date_gmt":"2019-08-20T13:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=37741"},"modified":"2019-08-20T13:13:12","modified_gmt":"2019-08-20T13:13:12","slug":"People of al-Shaddadi complaining about the poor situation of the roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/37741\/","title":{"rendered":"People of al-Shaddadi complaining about the poor situation of the roads"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div><b><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Al-Shadadi &#8211; North-Press Agency<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n<div><b><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Hussam al-Dakhil<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The residents of the town al-Shaddadi, 60 km south of Hasakah, northeastern Syria are complaining about the poor conditions of the town&#8217;s roads, where more than 90% of the main and secondary roads are completely damaged, unfit and greatly affect both the pedestrians and the vehicles.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The residents told North-Press about their resentment with the People&#8217;s Municipality, which &#8220;hasn&#8217;t done anything since it was opened about two years ago,&#8221; according to the locals.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Mohammed Mafdi a resident of the town, pointed out that people suffer the holes in the roads, which collect water inside in winter and impede the movement, pointing out to the presence of a school near his home, he said: &#8220;It is difficult for students to reach their school due to the large holes which turn the road into swamps, which force them to take a long way to pursue their education.&#8221;<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Noura al-Ali, a resident, also said: &#8220;The muddy holes of water in front of our houses block the road, and the situation is getting worse in winter,&#8221; she said.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Yasser Al-Shaheen anther resident explained that all accidents in the town are mainly caused by the unpaved roads, calling on the People&#8217;s Municipality in al-Shaddadi to find a solution for this problem as soon as possible.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><b><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The Municipality<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Mohammed al-Saleh, the co-head of the People&#8217;s Municipality in Al-Shaddadi, attributed the municipality&#8217;s delay in paving roads to the great destruction of the town&#8217;s sewage networks as a result of the war.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Al-Saleh said: \u201c70% of the sewage networks have been completed, which will pave the way for us to undertake more projects, including paving roads, which we will start working early next month.\u201d<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Al-Saleh also said: &#8220;6 km of the town&#8217;s roads will be paved, and this percentage represents a quarter of the town&#8217;s streets,\u201d indicating that the rest of the streets would be filled up before winter.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">In February 2016, the town of al-Shaddadi witnessed fierce battles between the Global Coalition-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Islamic State group (ISIS), where the SDF took control over the whole area in the same year.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Al-Shadadi &#8211; North-Press Agency Hussam al-Dakhil The residents of the town al-Shaddadi, 60 km south of Hasakah, northeastern Syria are complaining about the poor conditions of the town&#8217;s roads, where more than 90% of the main and secondary roads are completely damaged, unfit and greatly affect both the pedestrians and the vehicles.
