{"id":37648,"date":"2019-07-27T09:47:21","date_gmt":"2019-07-27T09:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=37648"},"modified":"2019-07-27T09:47:21","modified_gmt":"2019-07-27T09:47:21","slug":"A Marathon in Raqqa dedicated for combating drugs among the young ","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/37648\/","title":{"rendered":"A Marathon in Raqqa dedicated for combating drugs among the young"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><b><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Raqqa &#8211; North-Press Agency<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n<div><b><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Ahmad al-Hassan \/ Abdullatif al-Hilal&nbsp;<\/font><\/b><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The Youth and Sports Committee of Raqqa Civil Council has organized a marathon aiming to combat drugs, in which 120 children and young people participated from the city of Raqqa and its countryside.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The participants in the marathon took off from Rabia farm, west of the city, towards the finish line at Al-Frousiyah Square, about 5 km far from the starting line.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Under the title of &#8220;No Drugs&#8221; the event aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of drugs.&nbsp;<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">For his part, Anwar al-Ahmad, head of the Youth and Sports Committee in Raqqa civil council told North-Press that they were intensifying sports activities in the city to remove what was stuck in the minds of their children during the years of the war.&nbsp;<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">&#8220;Sport is the best treatment to eliminate the phenomenon of drugs, thus, the committee is working to establish events as such in the city and its countryside,&#8221; al-Ahmad added.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Muaz al-Ali, a member of the Youth and Sports Committee said: &#8220;The committee has organized this event to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and the early smoking among young people and children in particular&#8221;.&nbsp;<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">As al-Ali pointed out that the committee is keen on changing the aberrant path followed by young people: &#8220;We are working on holding sports events to instill new tendencies among young people,&#8221; he added.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">Moreover, contestants of different component of the city of participated in the marathon, as Kamal al-Ahmad, one of the participants on behalf of the Future Makers Team, expressed his support for every awareness-raising activity to raise a generation that realizes the dangers of drugs.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\"><br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font face=\"georgia\" color=\"#000000\">The marathon ended with three winners, Karam al-Hussein, 16 minutes at the first place, followed by Ayman al-Sayyid, 20 minutes, and the third place was for Muhammad al-Jawhar, 22 minutes, while the organizing committee has rewarded the three winners with sums of money along with symbolic prizes.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Raqqa &#8211; North-Press Agency Ahmad al-Hassan \/ Abdullatif al-Hilal&nbsp; The Youth and Sports Committee of Raqqa Civil Council has organized a marathon aiming to combat drugs, in which 120 children and young people participated from the city of Raqqa and its countryside.
