In a statement issued on Monday, the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria has rejected the United Nations’ first meeting of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, in the absence of the Autonomous Administration representatives, and the ongoing military invasion conducted by Turkey in northern Syria.<\/div>\n
\u201cAs Turkey is invading our territories, Mr. Geir Pederson intends to hold the first meeting of the Constitutional Committee in a complete absence of representatives of the Autonomous Administration of northeastern Syria,” the Autonomous Administration said in a statement on Monday.<\/div>\n
The Administration considered this exclusion as “a denial of what Turkey and its mercenaries are committing against us, and a denial of the will of more than 5 million Syrians,” it said.<\/div>\n
Furthermore, the Autonomous Administration also mentioned the killing of the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and said that it was an important achievement for Syria and the world, as this was achieved because of “great sacrifice made by the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).” <\/div>\n
Moreover, the Administration wondered about al-Baghdadi’s presence in Turkey’s spheres of influence, saying it was the biggest proof of “Turkey’s hiding of the terrorist organization as creating a proper atmosphere for its return.”<\/div>\n
The administration said that their exclusion from the Constitutional Committee does not serve the solution, and in practice, it reflects the lack of justice in the formation of this Committee, and stressed that it is not concerned with the results to be issued by any committee without its representatives.<\/div>\n
At the end of statement, the Autonomous Administration called for marches and protests to denounce the “denial policy” against the Autonomous Administration and its exclusion from the Constitutional Committee.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
