{"id":141309,"date":"2026-09-09T18:16:47","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T18:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=141309"},"modified":"2026-09-09T18:17:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T18:17:58","slug":"shaibani-safadi-warn-of-israeli-attacks-on-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/141309\/","title":{"rendered":"Shaibani, Safadi warn of Israeli attacks on Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned on Wednesday that continued Israeli attacks threaten Syria\u2019s security, stability and sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier Wednesday, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and al-Shaibani received Safadi, Jordan\u2019s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, in Damascus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a joint statement, al-Shaibani and Safadi renewed their condemnation of repeated Israeli attacks and incursions into Syrian territory, calling for an end to them as a violation of Syria\u2019s sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministers said the Israeli actions also constitute a breach of international law and Israel\u2019s obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safadi reaffirmed Jordan\u2019s support for Syria\u2019s reconstruction process on foundations that preserve the country\u2019s unity, sovereignty, security, stability and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safadi also welcomed the announcement of the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and their integration into Syria\u2019s military institutions, describing it as an important step toward strengthening Syria\u2019s unity, security and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jordanian minister said his country supports efforts aimed at preserving Syria\u2019s unity and sovereignty and strengthening the cohesion of its state institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two ministers also discussed developments in southern Syria and efforts to implement the joint roadmap concerning Suwayda governorate and stability in southern Syria.
