{"id":140479,"date":"2026-08-19T07:34:47","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:34:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=140479"},"modified":"2026-08-19T07:34:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:34:49","slug":"israeli-forces-raid-syrias-quneitra-abduct-two-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/140479\/","title":{"rendered":"Israeli forces raid Syria&#8217;s Quneitra, abduct two people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Israeli forces on Wednesday carried out a military incursion into Jubata al-Khashab town in the northern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, deploying more than 100 troops and 15 military vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local sources told North Press that the Israeli forces entered the town at around 4 a.m. and took positions at several locations, while troops raided and searched a number of homes at random, accompanied by indiscriminate gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sources said that two residents were abducted during the incursion and taken to an unknown location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israeli military has expanded its operations across southern Syria over the past 24 hours, including deforestation, ground incursions into strategic areas, artillery shelling and intensified flights by warplanes and drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, the Israeli forces continued clearing and cutting trees in al-Shahar Forest in Jubata al-Khashab from morning until evening, according to the same sources. The campaign, which has continued for months, has targeted one of the largest forested areas in Quneitra Governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The forces also entered Saida al-Jolan village with three military vehicles, the sources said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another Israeli force advanced toward Bat al-Ward Hill, overlooking Beit Jinn in Rif Dimashq, in an apparent move to strengthen control over a strategic elevation overlooking the western Ghouta area, according to the sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Daraa Governorate, an Israeli-launched shell landed in the western valley of Abdin village in the Yarmouk Basin. Israeli forces also fired three artillery shells from al-Jazeera military base toward agricultural land north of Maariyah village in the west of Daraa, causing no reported casualties, the sources said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The skies over Daraa also witnessed intensive flights by Israeli warplanes and drones, which took off from military bases in the occupied Golan Heights and flew at medium altitudes.
