Gen. Adel Issa, who is detained in Lebanon, to Syrian authorities to face trial over alleged crimes committed in Syria, Lebanon\u2019s National News Agency reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency said that Lebanon\u2019s Prosecutor General for Cassation, Judge Ahmad Rami al-Hajj, issued the decision after determining that the legal and judicial conditions for Issa\u2019s extradition had been met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision was based on a 1951 judicial cooperation agreement between Lebanon and Syria, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Hajj tasked the Central Criminal Investigations Bureau with transferring Issa from the Beirut Palace of Justice detention facility to the General Security Directorate, in preparation for his handover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Issa will then be transferred to the Lebanese-Syrian border, where he will be handed over to a Syrian security committee stationed on the Syrian side, the agency noted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>By Malin Mohammed<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Lebanese judicial authorities on Tuesday decided to hand over former Syrian regime Brig.
