{"id":140387,"date":"2026-08-17T08:44:02","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T08:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=140387"},"modified":"2026-08-17T08:44:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T08:44:03","slug":"kurdistan-region-pms-office-security-chiefs-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/140387\/","title":{"rendered":"Kurdistan Region PM\u2019s office, security chief\u2019s home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Iranian drones on Monday targeted the personal office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the head of the region\u2019s security and intelligence agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a post on X, Barzani said investigations by the Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Directorate confirmed that the two sites were targeted in Iranian drone attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He condemned the attacks as \u201creckless and unacceptable,\u201d describing them as a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSuch attacks will never deter us from continuing to carry out our duties and protecting our citizens,\u201d Barzani said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prime minister did not provide details on casualties or the extent of damage caused by the attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reported strikes come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States and a broader escalation across the region.
