{"id":140048,"date":"2026-08-09T12:42:59","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T12:42:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=140048"},"modified":"2026-08-09T12:43:01","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T12:43:01","slug":"syria-plans-to-raise-rmelan-oil-output-to-250000-barrels-per-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/140048\/","title":{"rendered":"Syria plans to raise Rmelan oil output to 250,000 barrels per day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Syrian Petroleum Company on Sunday said maintenance and rehabilitation work at the Rmelan oil fields and Sweidiya gas plant in Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, will begin immediately in partnership with a U.S. company, as part of a plan to raise oil production to 250,000 barrels per day by the end of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Petroleum Company, cited by Syria\u2019s state-run Al-Ikhbariya news website, said the maintenance and rehabilitation work will begin immediately and take between six months and one year to improve infrastructure efficiency and production capacity, with the goal of reaching 250,000 barrels per day by the end of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It said the U.S.-based HKN Energy company will invest hundreds of millions of dollars during the first phase of the project to develop the Rmelan fields and Sweidiya gas plant under agreed and carefully prepared plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Petroleum Company said current production stands at around 70,000 barrels per day, according to production reports, due to the shutdown of several wells. Production will be increased by rehabilitating inactive wells, drilling new wells using advanced rigs and technologies, and improving operational infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said the plan currently covers five oil fields in Rmelan and includes supplying modern drilling and production equipment, upgrading processing facilities, addressing pollution, and reinjecting water to ensure sustainable operations in line with international standards and protect the environment, according to Al-Ikhbariya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
