{"id":140015,"date":"2026-08-08T19:06:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T19:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=140015"},"modified":"2026-08-08T19:06:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T19:06:05","slug":"anti-narcotics-administration-thwarts-drug-smuggling-in-syrias-quneitra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/140015\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-narcotics administration thwarts drug smuggling in Syria&#8217;s Quneitra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) <\/strong>&#8211; Syria\u2019s Anti-Narcotics Administration said on Saturday it had thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of drugs in the southern countryside of Quneitra governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the Anti-Narcotics Administration said the security operation targeted a criminal network planning to smuggle a shipment of drugs out of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation resulted in the arrest of four people, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The administration said security forces seized 17.5 kilograms of drugs, around 100,000 narcotic pills, as well as a military weapon with a tactical vest and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It added that the seized items were confiscated and the detainees were referred to the competent judiciary to take legal action against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation came one day after the administration announced the arrest of two people in Tartous governorate on charges of drug trafficking.
