{"id":139781,"date":"2026-08-03T10:10:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=139781"},"modified":"2026-08-03T10:10:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:10:18","slug":"kurdistan-region-says-barzanis-damascus-visit-to-address-syria-ties-sdf-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/139781\/","title":{"rendered":"Kurdistan Region says Barzani&#8217;s Damascus visit to address Syria ties, SDF integration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> The Kurdistan Region Presidency said on Monday that President Nechirvan Barzani&#8217;s visit to Damascus will focus on political and economic issues, stressing that stability in Syria is essential for the wider region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to North Press, Kurdistan Region Presidency spokesperson Dilshad Shahab said Erbil attaches special importance to relations with Damascus and continues to support efforts aimed at ensuring stability in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The stability of Syria is reflected in the stability of the entire region,&#8221; Shahab said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that Barzani has consistently emphasized the need to safeguard the rights of all communities in Syria, underscoring the importance of Kurdish participation in state institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Shahab, Barzani&#8217;s visit comes in response to an official invitation from Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and is being coordinated with the Iraqi government.
