I\u2019ve heard about pain, loss, displacement and fear. But I\u2019ve also seen resilience, courage and determination,\u201d Guterres said in a post on X after concluding his visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said he felt \u201ca profound sense of hope\u201d for a future where rights are respected, equality is realized and opportunities are shared, stressing that the UN \u201cstands with Syria at this pivotal moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA stable and inclusive Syria will contribute to stability and prosperity across the region and beyond,\u201d he said, adding that the road ahead would not be easy but presented \u201ca real opportunity\u201d to build a country where everyone can live in dignity, equality, security and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During a press conference at the conclusion of his visit, Guterres described the trip as \u201cdeeply meaningful\u201d and said he was determined to mobilize international support for Syria\u2019s transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am optimistic. But I am more than optimistic.
