The obstacles had been placed to block the road leading to the al-Arda area, where Israeli forces have repeatedly established temporary checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the incursion, an Israeli drone deployed a munition near residents attempting to block the Maariya-Abdeen road, though no casualties or material damage were documented. Witnesses stated that the Israeli force initiated its advance from the al-Jazeera barracks situated near Maariya village. The military outpost, under Israeli control since late 2024, serves as the primary Israeli military point within Daraa Governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation follows an incident on Thursday when Israeli troops stationed at the al-Jazeera base fired machine guns toward residential areas in Maariya. Residents subsequently blocked transit routes with rocks before the forces moved in to reopen them on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military maneuvers in southern Syria occur amid reports of ongoing violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
