{"id":137986,"date":"2026-05-24T17:28:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T17:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=137986"},"modified":"2026-05-24T17:28:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T17:28:05","slug":"child-killed-five-injured-in-war-remnant-blast-in-daraa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/137986\/","title":{"rendered":"Child killed, five injured in war remnant blast in Daraa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) <\/strong>\u2013 A child was killed and five others were injured on Sunday after a hand grenade left behind from the Syrian conflict exploded while they were reportedly handling it inside an abandoned shop in eastern Daraa countryside, according to a local source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident took place in the village of al-Ghariyah al-Sharqiyah in Daraa countryside, southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local source told North Press that 14-year-old Taym Anas al-Zoubi died from his injuries following the explosion, while the five injured children were transferred to nearby medical centers for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source said the injuries of the wounded children were described as moderate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daraa governorate, like many regions across Syria, continues to witness repeated explosions caused by unexploded ordnance and war remnants left from years of conflict.
