{"id":137640,"date":"2026-05-13T07:25:48","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T07:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=137640"},"modified":"2026-05-13T07:25:50","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T07:25:50","slug":"two-separate-attacks-kill-former-regime-member-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/137640\/","title":{"rendered":"Two separate attacks kill former regime member in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A former Syrian government member was killed on Tuesday night while a former military security officer survived an armed assault on his home in two separate incidents in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor and the city of Palmyra, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local source from al-Quriyah city in the east of Deir ez-Zor told North Press that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted Manawer al-Dakhil, described as a former member of government forces, with pistol fire near his house on the edge of al-Hafayer neighborhood, toward the desert outskirts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Dakhil was killed instantly, the source said, adding that the attackers fled toward the open desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident in Palmyra in central Syria, unidentified gunmen attacked the house of Nabil Farzat, a former officer in Military Security, in the Sabkhat al-Milh neighborhood, according to the same source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source said an exchange of fire took place before Farzat fled the house.
