{"id":137244,"date":"2026-04-28T17:20:26","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T17:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=137244"},"modified":"2026-04-28T17:20:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T17:20:28","slug":"emergency-team-formed-after-hepatitis-spread-in-daraa-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/137244\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency team formed after Hepatitis spread in Daraa town"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press)<\/strong> \u2013 Authorities in southern Syria\u2019s Daraa governorate announced on Tuesday the formation of an emergency investigation team to monitor and contain a hepatitis outbreak in the town of Mahja, where around 109 confirmed cases have been recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move comes after days of reported infections in Mahja, located in the northern countryside of Daraa, prompting residents to call for urgent intervention to curb the spread of the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a statement by Daraa province, the emergency team includes representatives from the Health Directorate, the head of Izra district, officials from water and sanitation institutions, and members of the Mahja local council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team has carried out a series of urgent measures, most notably repairing a leak at well No. 9, which was identified as a potential source of contamination.
