{"id":137027,"date":"2026-04-17T09:07:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T09:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=137027"},"modified":"2026-04-17T09:07:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T09:07:11","slug":"syrian-president-highlights-progress-in-sdf-state-integration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/137027\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian President highlights progress in SDF-state integration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) <\/strong>\u2013 Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said on Friday that the ongoing integration process between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and state institutions represents a \u201cmajor achievement\u201d for the country, according to remarks published by Turkey\u2019s Anadolu Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during a visit to Turkey to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, al-Sharaa stated that \u201cthe integration processes between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian state are currently underway,\u201d describing them as a step taken \u201cin favor of Syria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Democratic Forces, a US-backed military force, have been the main security actor in northeast Syria, where the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) oversees civil governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Sharaa also said that \u201cthe last foreign base has left northeastern Syria,\u201d adding that the country has \u201cmoved from a state of crisis to a historic opportunity toward stability and reconstruction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">North Press could not independently verify the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same interview, the Syrian president revealed that his government is seeking to reach \u201ca form of security agreement\u201d with Israel, aimed at maintaining regional stability. He noted that negotiations \u201chave not reached a dead end but are progressing with difficulty,\u201d citing Israel\u2019s insistence on maintaining a presence inside Syrian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He accused Israel of carrying out attacks on site inside Syria and of \u201coccupying new territories\u201c along the Golan border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On regional relations, al-Sharaa emphasized the importance of cooperation with Turkey, describing Syria as a potential \u201csafe corridor\u201d for energy supplies and trade routes, particularly linking the Gulf to Turkey.
