According to a report by the U.S.-based news outlet Axios, citing American and Israeli officials, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raised the situation in Lebanon during a phone call with former U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of a ceasefire announcement. The report added that both sides agreed that hostilities in Lebanon could continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same sources indicated that the White House is not concerned that developments in Lebanon would undermine the ceasefire with Iran. However, Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry described the situation in Lebanon as a \u201cblatant violation,\u201d stating that a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon was part of an agreement with the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iranian officials warned of serious consequences over Israel\u2019s actions against Lebanese civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, the Israeli military confirmed that one of its soldiers was killed and five others were wounded during clashes in southern Lebanon.
