QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) \u2013 Iranian media reports have claimed the presence of foreign military personnel and experts at several locations in the Syrian capital, Damascus, describing it as part of a broader redeployment of foreign forces in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The same report said that the use of civilian facilities by U.S. forces is not limited to Gulf countries, alleging similar practices at Beirut\u2013Rafic Hariri International Airport and sites within Damascus, as well as in Djibouti, amid what it described as U.S. repositioning following damage to several of its bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Separately, the Syrian army\u2019s operations authority announced early Tuesday that a military base near the town of al-Ya\u2019rubiyah was targeted by a rocket attack. It marked the first such incident since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement, the rockets were launched from Iraqi territory, without specifying the extent of casualties or damage. The authority added that coordination was ongoing with Iraq, whose forces initiated search operations to pursue those responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iraqi authorities later announced the arrest of four individuals suspected of involvement in the attack and referred them for investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the escalation began on February 28, Iran has intensified missile and drone attacks it says target U.S. positions and interests across several Arab countries. These attacks have also resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential and service facilities, prompting condemnation from affected states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In southern Syria, incidents of falling rockets and debris resulting from Israeli interceptions of Iranian projectiles have been repeatedly reported, particularly in the provinces of Daraa and Quneitra. Explosions have also been heard frequently over the Damascus countryside and southern regions, alongside reports of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
