{"id":136018,"date":"2026-03-07T09:22:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-07T09:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=136018"},"modified":"2026-03-07T09:22:59","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T09:22:59","slug":"iraqi-pmf-redeploys-near-syria-border","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/136018\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraqi PMF redeploys near Syria border"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> Forces affiliated with Iraq\u2019s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) redeployed on Saturday to new positions near the Syria\u2013Iraq border, bringing in heavy and advanced weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The redeployment comes two days after the PMF withdrew from several sites following U.S. airstrikes that targeted their positions near the border area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A security source, who requested anonymity, told North Press that PMF forces repositioned in 17 secondary sites and two main headquarters near the al-Sekak border crossing, while another position was established inside the Iraqi border city of Al-Qa\u2019im.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source said that the PMF transferred heavy and advanced weaponry to the area, including rocket launch platforms and mortars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the source, the forces redeployed into facilities that previously belonged to the Iraqi Army.
