The announcement came hours after the Syrian Ministry of Defense said army units had taken control of the al-Tanf military base and secured the facility and its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of US Central Command, said in the statement, \u201cUS forces remain prepared to respond to any threats that may arise from ISIS in the region, as part of our support to partner-led efforts to prevent the resurgence of this terrorist network.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added, \u201cSustained pressure on ISIS remains critical to protecting the United States and enhancing regional security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to CENTCOM, over the past two months US forces conducted strikes against more than 100 targets using over 350 precision munitions.
