direction, but still insufficient.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking during a congressional briefing on Syria, Mast emphasized that \u201cattacks targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces, allies of the United States, are unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that Washington remains concerned about developments in Syria, noting that the current situation \u201cis far from what it should be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mast also stressed that Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharrah has not received a \u201cblank check\u201d from the United States, underscoring the conditional nature of US engagement with Damascus regarding northeast Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remarks came amid
