The force plays a central role in counterterrorism operations against Islamic State cells and in securing areas administered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barrack did not provide a timeline for the resumption of talks or details on the format of the proposed negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His comments come amid heightened regional tensions, including recent security incidents in parts of northern Syria, and growing international calls for restraint and
