Several of the wounded remain in critical condition, raising concerns that the number of fatalities may increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an official statement, the SDC said: \u201cThe Syrian Democratic Council extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims who lost their lives as a result of the treacherous terrorist attack that targeted the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the city of Homs, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The council strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a \u201ccriminal terrorist act\u201d aimed at undermining social stability. \u201cWe condemn this terrorist crime in the strongest terms,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDC stressed that such attacks do not target a single community, but rather threaten Syria\u2019s social fabric as a whole. \u201cThese criminal acts do not target a specific component, but instead strike at civil peace across Syria, undermine the foundations of coexistence and the national fabric, and seek to spread discord and reproduce violence and instability,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The council emphasized that confronting terrorism requires a unified Syrian effort based on shared responsibility. \u201cCountering terrorism requires a comprehensive national Syrian effort founded on partnership and collective responsibility, as terrorism is a cross-regional and cross-communal threat,\u201d the SDC said, warning that its impact extends beyond Syria to regional and international security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement also highlighted the importance of political agreements aimed at reducing violence and preventing the resurgence of extremist groups.
