{"id":133680,"date":"2025-12-24T10:14:18","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T10:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=133680"},"modified":"2025-12-24T10:14:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T10:14:20","slug":"sdf-fighter-killed-base-attacked-in-suspected-isis-assaults-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/133680\/","title":{"rendered":"SDF fighter killed, base attacked in suspected ISIS assaults in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed and a military position came under attack on Tuesday evening in two separate incidents carried out by unknown gunmen, suspected to be affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS), in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A military source from the SDF in Deir ez-Zor told North Press that unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Ayman al-Kalash, 27, in front of his home in the village of Sabha, east of Deir ez-Zor. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source said al-Kalash was killed instantly, adding that the attackers fled the village while chanting slogans in support of ISIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Kalash was on leave at the time of the attack, according to the source. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident, the same source said unidentified gunmen targeted an SDF military position in the town of al-Kishkiyah, also in the east of Deir ez-Zor, using automatic weapons. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attack caused material damage only, with no casualties reported, the source noted. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incidents come amid continued security tensions in Deir ez-Zor\u2019s eastern countryside, where ISIS cells remain active and periodically carry out assassinations and hit-and-run attacks targeting SDF personnel and facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reporting by Omar Abdurrahman<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Editing by Jwan Shekaki<\/strong><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013 A fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed and a military position came under attack on Tuesday evening in two separate incidents carried out by unknown gunmen, suspected to be affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS), in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
