{"id":133432,"date":"2025-12-18T08:25:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T08:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=133432"},"modified":"2025-12-18T08:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T08:25:22","slug":"syrian-ministry-of-health-reports-rise-in-seasonal-influenza-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/133432\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian Ministry of Health reports rise in seasonal influenza cases"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) \u2013 <\/strong>The Ministry of Health of the Syrian transitional government announced on Wednesday that data from its national influenza surveillance system shows a continued rise in acute respiratory illness cases across the country in recent weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a statement published on the ministry\u2019s Facebook page, epidemiological and laboratory data collected from hospitals, health centers, and accredited laboratories up to epidemiological week 48 of 2025 indicate a marked increase in seasonal influenza activity. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The laboratory positivity rate rose to 45.3 percent, compared with 28 percent in the previous update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry explained that laboratory analyses confirm the near-total dominance of the influenza A virus, predominantly the H3N2 subtype, which is currently the prevailing strain both regionally and globally.
