{"id":133243,"date":"2025-12-14T17:10:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T17:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=133243"},"modified":"2025-12-14T17:10:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T17:10:19","slug":"syrian-democratic-council-condemns-attack-on-us-forces-in-central-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/133243\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian Democratic Council condemns attack on US forces in central Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) <\/strong>\u2013 The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) on Sunday condemned an attack targeting US forces in the central Syrian city of Palmyra, describing it as a \u201ccowardly criminal act\u201d that threatens Syria\u2019s security and regional stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement published on its official website, the SDC said the attack serves the interests of \u201cforces of extremism and chaos,\u201d warning of the dangers posed by continued activity of extremist groups across Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The condemnation came a day after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that two American soldiers and one US civilian were killed, while three other service members were wounded, following an ambush carried out by an ISIS gunman in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDC expressed regret over the injuries sustained by members of public security forces and US soldiers, stressing that the escalation of such attacks requires \u201cthe unification of national efforts and the strengthening of collective will to pursue terrorist organizations and their sleeper cells.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The council extended its condolences to the United States and declared solidarity with the families of the victims, as well as with all partners involved in counterterrorism efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its statement, the SDC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining alliance and partnership with the United States and the International Coalition in the fight against terrorism.
