Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that its Military Operations Team (MOT) \u2013 TOL in Kurdish \u2013 carried out a high-level security operation in coordination with the Global Coalition forces in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, resulting in the capture of an Islamic State military emir.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The detainee, identified as Abu Zubayr, also known as Samak, was apprehended alongside two members of his attack cell following what the SDF described as extensive intelligence monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/sdf-press.com\/en\/?p=19459\">statement<\/a>, the SDF said that the network was among the \u201cmost dangerous\u201d ISIS cells in the region and responsible for the majority of recent assaults on SDF units.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Materials recovered during the raid \u2014 including mobile phones, surveillance footage, and operational documents \u2014 confirmed the group\u2019s direct coordination of attacks. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF added that the evidence contained video recordings showing orders being issued, movements of cell operatives, and reconnaissance activity carried out ahead of planned strikes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators determined that the emir oversaw smuggling routes and communications between ISIS cells and the Hawl Camp, while also supervising the recruitment and training of children from ISIS-linked families, known as the \u201cCubs of the Caliphate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF indicated that these efforts were designed to prepare minors for future combat roles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intelligence findings further indicated that the cell had received external support aimed at reactivating ISIS networks and escalating destabilization efforts across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weapons, ammunition, and ready-to-use explosives were seized during the operation, preventing what the SDF described as an imminent attack.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF pointed out that the capture of Abu Zubayr and the dismantling of his cell represent a \u201csignificant blow\u201d to ISIS\u2019s remaining infrastructure in Deir ez-Zor and form part of ongoing joint operations intended to prevent the extremist group from regrouping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SDF reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing remaining cells \u201cuntil terrorism is fully eradicated\u201d and long-term stability is secured for Deir ez-Zor and the wider region. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3
