He added that Syrians endured \u201cyears of oppression and hardship,\u201d yet continued to resist attempts to divide the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The president said his administration has formed strategic partnerships across several sectors to support economic recovery and restore public trust after prolonged political and social turmoil. He noted that these efforts aim to empower citizens after \u201cyears of injustice and deprivation,\u201d placing responsibility for national recovery jointly on institutions and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Sharaa described the previous regime as one that \u201cbuilt a structure based on lawlessness, corruption and deliberate impoverishment of the people,\u201d saying its rule represented \u201ca dark chapter in Syria\u2019s history.\u201d He added that the former government entrenched divisions within society and sought to separate the authorities from the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The president emphasized that the end of military confrontation with what he called the \u201cdefunct regime\u201d marked the beginning of a wider struggle focused on rebuilding state institutions, strengthening the rule of law and creating conditions for sustainable development. Transitional justice, he said, remains central to this phase in order to ensure accountability for all violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Sharaa also highlighted the integration of armed factions into a unified national army, describing the move as a key factor in improving security across several regions.
