The incident contributed to growing concerns about escalating tensions in southern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to reporters, Netanyahu stated, \u201cWe want to create a demilitarized zone from Damascus to Mount Hermon,\u201d adding that Israel remains committed to securing its northern frontier. He said that \u201cwith a positive approach and an understanding of the principles of the demilitarized zone, it is possible to reach an agreement with the Syrians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israeli prime minister also emphasized Israel\u2019s determination to prevent hostile activities near its borders, noting that protecting the Druze community in the region is among Israel\u2019s stated priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Netanyahu did not provide further details regarding potential mechanisms for implementing the proposed demilitarized zone or whether any communication had taken place between Israeli and Syrian intermediaries.
