The parliamentary team described the visit as productive, with \u201cpositive results\u201d achieved during the discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit came after the Turkish Parliament\u2019s Peace Committee decided, by a majority vote, to engage with \u00d6calan, despite opposition from the main opposition party, the Republican People\u2019s Party (CHP). The committee\u2019s decision followed multiple sessions and dialogues with relevant stakeholders since its formation in August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement released after the meeting, the delegation confirmed that the committee had met 18 times since its establishment and had conducted hearings with various actors involved in the peace process. The visit was held on the heels of an 18th committee session on November 21, which officially approved the proposal to meet with \u00d6calan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe meeting was in line with our long-standing call for peace and democratic dialogue,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe visit was particularly significant in light of recent proposals for the PKK to disarm and dissolve, as well as discussions on the implementation of the March 10 agreement in Syria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parliamentary committee expressed that, during the meeting, \u00d6calan reiterated his commitment to peace and a democratic solution for the Kurdish issue, as well as his support for efforts to promote societal integration and regional stability. The delegation also reported that discussions included topics related to the PKK\u2019s role in Syria, particularly concerning the ongoing political dynamics in northeastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of now, there are no further details on the exact nature of the \u201cpositive results\u201d achieved.
