{"id":132153,"date":"2025-11-16T09:45:33","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T09:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/?p=132153"},"modified":"2025-11-16T09:45:35","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T09:45:35","slug":"assassination-attempt-kills-civilian-targets-local-aanes-official-in-deir-ez-zor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/npasyria.com\/en\/132153\/","title":{"rendered":"Assassination attempt Kills civilian, targets local AANES official in Deir ez-Zor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) \u2013<\/strong> A civilian was killed and a local official with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) survived an assassination attempt in two separate attacks on Saturday evening in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A local source from the town of al-Asharah told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with a machine gun at Noor al-Faisal outside his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAl-Faisal died instantly, while the attackers fled the scene,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the source, al-Faisal worked in the grain and fodder trade and had no affiliation with any political or military group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident in the town of Baghuz, unknown gunmen targeted the vehicle of Ahmad al-Tu\u2019mah, co-chair of the Baghuz Municipality, using automatic weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Tu\u2019mah managed to escape unharmed and sought shelter among residential homes.
